Round Top Texas Antique Fair Insider Tips
To make the most of your visit, here are a few insider tips to keep in mind:
1. Wear Comfortable Shoes
This probably goes without saying, but you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Comfortable shoes are a must because there’s a LOT of ground to cover. Whether you're at Blue Hills or Market Hill, trust me—your feet will thank you.
Do you plan to rock new boots? If you are breaking in new boots, be sure to fortify your feet and ankle with the appropriate socks to avoid the bite of a new boot.
2. Bring a Hat and Sunscreen
No matter the season, the sun in Texas can sneak up on you, so you’ll want to make sure you’re covered, literally.
Bring a hat, some sunscreen, and maybe even a light jacket for the cooler mornings and evenings.
3. Bring a Big Bag (or Maybe Even a Wagon)
If you plan on buying more than just a trinket or two, bring a sturdy bag—or, better yet, a wagon to haul your finds around. Some venues offer delivery options for larger pieces, but if you’re picking up small items or walking the entire fair, it’s nice to have a way to carry everything.
If you have the truck or trailer, don’t forget rope or straps, or material to cushion items. You can never have too much padding to protect your treasures for the road trip home.
4. Arrive Early
If you want to beat the crowds, try to arrive early. Some of the best finds get snatched up in the mornings, so set that alarm clock and grab yourself a coffee on the way! …oh, and grab a bottle of water.
Food, Fun, and More at Round Top
One of the best parts about the Round Top Texas Antique Fair is that it’s not just about shopping. Sure, you’ll find amazing antiques, but there’s also great food, live music, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
You can grab some classic Texas BBQ, sip on a cold drink, and enjoy live performances scattered around the different venues. Whether you’re sitting under the Texas sky enjoying the crisp fall air or taking a break from shopping to snack on some delicious treats, it’s all part of the experience.
Pro tip for making the most of a weekend of it: Make sure to slow down and take it all in.
